Scheduling posts to Personal Facebook Profiles

Facebook does not allow scheduling tools to post directly to personal Facebook Profiles.

However, here is how to schedule posts to a personal Facebook profile that publish directly (no mobile notifications needed) using Instagram's "Also share on" cross-posting feature:

  1. Schedule the post to an Instagram account
  2. Toggle on the "Also share on" and choose your personal Facebook profile. This works with personal, creator, or business Instagram accounts.

  1. Then you can schedule out your post up to 30 days in advance in the Instagram app.

Tips:

  • If you dont have an Instagram account, or dont want to share the same posts on your primary Instagram account, you can create a dummy Instagram account for the sole purpose of being able to schedule posts and those posts getting cross-posted to your personal Facebook profile.
  • If you dont see your personal Facebook profile as an option in the "Also share on" part of the Instagram app, make sure you have your personal Facebook profile linked in the Meta Accounts Center (under "Connected Experiences" ➡️ "Sharing across profiles"): https://accountscenter.instagram.com/connected_experiences/

👆 We highly suggest using the above method, as it's the only way to schedule posts that publish DIRECTLY to a personal Facebook profile.

⚠️ If you have "Also share on" setting in the Instagram app, it will ONLY share posts that are created natively in the Instagram app to your personal Facebook profile. If you schedule posts to your Instagram account in a 3rd party scheduling tool like OneUp, those posts will NOT getting cross-posted to your personal Facebook profile (we suggest utilizing OneUp's cross-posting feature if you are trying to post to all social networks in one go - see below for more info on that)

Trying to post to a personal Facebook profile at the same time as posting to Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc?

If you are trying to have your posts publish everywhere (including to your Facebook profile), the suggestion is to follow the steps above... AND as long as your Instagram account is a Business or Creator account, you can use OneUp's cross-posting feature to automatically post anything that is published on your Instagram account to YouTube, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and more.

You create a post in the Instagram app ➡️ That post gets shared to your personal Facebook profile, YouTube, TikTok, and any other social networks you select
The personal Facebook profile part is handled by the "Also share on" in the Instagram app, OneUp handles sharing to all the other social networks

⚠️ POSTING VIA MOBILE NOTIFICATIONS - Only scroll down if you would like to post to your personal Facebook profile via mobile notifications. We highly suggest using the method mentioned above instead.

If you would like to post to your personal Facebook profile via mobiel notifications, OneUp's mobile app will send you a notification each time your scheduled personal Facebook Profile is ready to publish, but you need to manually complete the posting.

How do personal Facebook Profile notifications work?

  1. You'll receive a push notification on your phone at the time you scheduled the post for.

Note: Please make sure you have allowed notifications from the OneUp mobile app. If you did not allow notifications when you first logged into the OneUp mobile app, you can allow them by following the steps here.

  1. Tap the notification, and it will open your post in the OneUp mobile app:

  1. Tap "Share this on Facebook", and your post caption will automatically be copied. Tap "Got it" and it will open the Facebook app with your image (if your post had one):

  1. Then you are ready to paste in your caption. Tap in the caption box and you will get a "Paste" option.

  1. Your caption was automatically copied previously, so you just need to paste it in:

  1. You are now ready to share your post! 😊

TIP: If you miss a notification, you can find all your recent notifications in the Notification History tab in the mobile app:

NOTE: Please make sure you are logged into the Facebook app on the same device that you are receiving the notification from OneUp.
