DM automation triggers not working

Please note that DM automations will only work with new comments or new DMs that come in AFTER you create the automation. It will not reply to past comments from before the automation was set up.

If your DM automations are not being triggered, there are 2 things to check for:

Are you testing with a comment from the same account you created the automation on?

The trigger will only work if the keyword is commented from a different account. Remember to check the "Message requests" folder of Instagram too.

Are you testing on a collab post where you are not the main author?

Meta's API only allows DM automations to work on posts where YOU are the original creator of the post. It will not work for posts where you were added as a collaborator.

Do you have all the proper permissions enabled?

If your Instagram account is linked to a Facebook Page, you can you go here: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=business_tools

Then click "Remove" on the OneUp integration.

After doing so, go to the Accounts page in OneUp and click the "Refresh Connection" option on this Instagram account and enable all permissions when prompted.

Some users have mentioned that DM automation is not working for them when their Instagram account is connected via the "My Instagram account IS linked to a FB Page" option. If you are having issues, we recomment you go to the Accounts page of OneUp, and click the Instagram Connect button, but choose the "My Instagram account is NOT linked to a FB Page" option instead (Note that doing this will not affect any scheduled posts). After doing so, your DM automations should work properly.

If your Instagram account is NOT linked to a Facebook Page, you can you go here: https://www.instagram.com/accounts/manage_access/

Then click "Remove" on the OneUp integration.

After doing so, go to the Accounts page in OneUp and click the "Refresh Connection" option on this Instagram account and enable all permissions when prompted.
